Me and Dad left for Africa on June 21rst at 5:30 AM Eastern.  I will attempt to provide brief summaries of our days here, in addition to the mediocre iPhone photos we take.

The trip out:

As said above, we left around 5:30 AM from PA.  The only real traffic we hit was through Staten Island.  Only that and a broken AirTran delayed us.  The 15 hour flight was as painless as one could hope, I watched Lion (On Aunt Carolyn's suggestion) and Good Will Hunting.  We both got decent sleep and the food was decent, so I couldn't ask for much more.  Plus we got this Fantastic Cadburry Oreo chocolate bar (at the airport but close enough).  3 hours in Johannesburg, 2 hour flight to cape town, which makes 28 hours of travel later, we arrived.

Gandolf dad And we're back! We've been back in America for a few months now (the Kindle never made it back), and as the pictures show, the adventures have continued.  Between July 5th and now, I travelled in Chicago for a week, we've done about 60 hours of recorded exercise, hiked three high peaks, we (plus mom!) moved Sydney into college and explored California, and mostly prepared me to move.  Emphasis on mostly. Right before we decided to do 3 high peaks instead of 4 Devon, come home!
